The extremely anticipated Netflix drama fantasy series The Witcher sees clean cut Superman Henry Cavill trading his clear line of enquiry for a gravel-toned white-haired longsword wielding monster-hunting colossus – Geralt of Rivia, whilst retaining a somewhat Superman-like code for justice with the exception of the tendency for brutalization.
Cavill stoically embodies a mutated and magic infused mercenary, cultivated and primed in Kaer Morhen Stronghold, detailed in Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski’s 8 saga combination of novels and short stories, brought audaciously to life almost 20 years after its original inception and publication by American producer and screenwriter Lauren Schmidt Hissrich in the fitting form of an 8 part epic.
With The Witcher confirmed for a second series (due to start filming in spring 2020) even before its 1st season release, it was the third largest streaming original in its US debut on the 20th December 2019 and was as of the 23rd December (only 3 days after its accessibility!) Netflix’s Highest Rated Original Series On IMDB.
