Interview with production company, Platform Presents
Isabella Macpherson and Gala Gordon, Co-founders of Platform Presents answered a few questions for Cut Frame Magazine.
We’re really pleased to have them share a bit about themselves and what they are up to at the moment, which during the current situation the world is in, they are quite busy.
So let’s let them share with us their journey and a little about what’s going on with Platform Presents.
Where did you guys meet and why did you want to start Platform Presents?
IM: We serendipitously met at the premiere of Oliver Stone’s film ‘Snowden.’ We instantly clicked and discovered we share a huge passion for theatre, film and television – great storytelling.
GG: Having left Guildhall drama school at 21 years old, I wanted to set up a production company that nurtured and discovered new talent – Actors, Writers and Directors. Meeting Isabella at the premiere was the catalyst for it to begin. I asked her to meet me for coffee the following week to discuss the ways in which we could work together. It was in that meeting that Platform Presents was born – a production company giving a platform to rising star talent: actors, writers and directors, with a particular interest in female voices. We initially started by producing play readings, poetry events, short films and are now producing theatre productions, feature films and television as well.
