A truly epic war film worth its weight in gold and a visual master class for the ages.
A highly acclaimed periodic war film featuring a strong cast, a budget of $100 million, and more than 140 nominations and over 60 award wins since its first screening in December 2019, including seven British Academy Film awards, two Golden Globes, and three Oscars.
I had heard nothing but good things about this motion picture since its release and the reviews from the film critics has been mostly positive. However, it wasn’t until a few weeks back and the recommendation from Cate Farrow during one of her live feeds on Instagram that I decided it was imperative that I get down to my local cinema and watch this picture.
The film ‘1917’ follows two young British soldiers, played by George MacKay (Lance Corporal William Schofield) and Dean-Charles Chapman (Lance Corporal Thomas Blake), on a death-defying no-man’s-land scramble to deliver an urgent message that could save 1,600 lives.
